Dr. Brannen is outstanding. I've been his patient for probably 25 years and travel 50 miles to see him. He is thorough, knowledgable, and a leading practitioner nationally in the contact lens field. He has always listened carefully to my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. He referred me to a retina specialist for an issue, and sent him a letter ahead of me to explain his thoughts and conerns. When I had my appointment with the specialist, he read the letter, looked at my retina, and said, "Brannen is 100% right--what do you need me for?" Nobody is more competent in this field. He may not be the warmest, back-patting type in the world, especially at first, but if you want an attentive doctor who knows his stuff, he's your man. His staff is unfailingly helpful and friendly in my experience. I recommend him without hesitation.

I have seen him a few years and am DONE going there. I don't care if I have to pay out of pocket, I will not go back there. His receptionist started going off on me the second I walked to the window because I needed a referral (I had been there within a year) and continued to greet me by impatiently making me sign a form that said I would pay them if I didn't get one. She was 100% concerned with being paid the $140 and with nothing else and she continued to go on and on about the referral even after I said I would just pay for the eye exam myself. His assistant asked me to look into a machine and when I politely asked what it was out of curiosity, she responded with "I'll tell you later" and never answered me. She then asked me about alcohol consumption and didn't believe me when I told her I didn't drink. The Dr is not personable, impatient and will rarely directly answer any questions you ask him. If you do get an answer, it will often be a one word answer. I hope if you are reading this, you go somewhere else, if not, consider yourself warned.
