Dr. P.A. Birdick is a great guy. He is in his 90's so I do not think he is still practicing optometry. I believe he is retired and focuses on his hobbies now. But many years ago when I got glasses from him he was very attentive and competent. His office was on 48 W. 2nd St. then, but I know that place was torn down and something else was built. Dr. Birdick was always involved in lots of things; he owned an old gold mine and was trying to find companies to work it, he was politically active, he ran the photo competition section of the Yuma County Fair. He was interested in aviation, photography and local history. He is very smart and interesting to listen to and has many friends, some a little on the odd side because he such a nice guy.
