This review was from a client who was upset for having to pay full price for her missed appointment which is my standard policy. I am not a masseuse. I am a licensed massage therapist. I work with massage therapists and teach them about the issues of dealing with insurance companies - which yes they are a pain in the neck! I don't have a fax because all my clients bring in their prescriptions directly after visiting their doctors. I don't provide reminder calls unless a client asks.

Yes I am unable to answer the phone because I am always in session with clients. My office is not for relaxation massage so there is no soft lighting etc. My forte is medical massage and various conditions such as sciatica, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciaitis.

I have had my office in downtown Seattle for over 23 years providing the highest quality massage services and work with clients to assist their healing and health.

Who would’ve ever thought you could find a bad masseuse? I wish I went my instincts about this place as soon as I began trying to make an appointment with Julie. She never ever answers the phone. The only option is to leave voicemails which made it extremely difficult and inconvenient to even make an appointment. I had to play phone tag a handful of times before a time could be confirmed. Not only that but I had to send my insurance information (which she notes on her site that she HATES when people use insurance and has a whole complaint blog about it) and prescription to her ahead of time; one big problem she didn’t have a working fax! Luckily my doctor’s office faxed the prescription to me even though they’re not supposed to. I’m working full time, going to school and I’m pregnant so I have a lot going on. I was in a lot of pain and really needed a massage, so against better judgment I gave Julie a try anyway.
The atmosphere in the room was like I’ve never seen at a massage place. It was bright and there was no music playing or anything. I felt awkward and obligated to have a conversation going to break the silence instead of relaxed. The massage itself was OK for someone who’s been doing this for 20 years. I’ve definitely had better for cheaper. I almost didn’t make another appointment but still thought maybe I should give her one more try and request music next time or something. I guess I just didn’t want to deal with finding someone again, getting insurance to them and so on with my hectic schedule. We were booking the appointments for weeks out. She never gave a reminder call for the appointment. So of course I completely spaced the appointment with everything going on. She left me a message wondering where I was indicating she could still have the appointment or we could just reschedule. I had just missed the call and called her right back to see if I was too late, but guess what? She didn’t answer the phone! So of course I didn’t go even though I’m only 5 minutes away and probably could’ve made it. She never called back either.
When she finally called me back days later to reschedule she told me she was going to charge me FULL price for the missed appointment. When I asked about reminder calls she said she gives them sometimes. Apparently not this time though, would have been nice to know. She acted as though she already had her cliental built (she kept mentioning doing this for 20 years) and therefore she could care less. I explained that I couldn’t pay her if it’s not going through my insurance. She said she can’t bill my insurance for service she didn’t provide and her time is money and that it’s not her problem. I can’t believe she wouldn’t try to accommodate or work with me at all to continue a working relationship. She said she’ll be billing me and in the same sentence threatened collections!!
AWFUL customer service!! I would not recommend trying to become a new customer with her. She doesn’t care about the client, she cares about her money whether she put the work in for it or not.
