At the time of my visit, I had spent over a decade suffering from a seizure disorder which had been diagnosed and treated by multiple other neuro's. I came to this Dr. on a referral due to changing cities. Dr Boes did not believe for a second, regardless of previous records including EEGs, MRIs, CTs, extended seizure studies etc. that I had any problems with seizures. He dismissed my descriptions, was wary of my use of medical terms ( my mother is a nurse and I have spent substantial periods of time in various hospitals,) and told me I was being dramatic. During the entire 15 minutes he spent with me, he had me walk across the room and poked me in multiple places with a pin to determine whether I had sensation or not. He then told me I was simply a hysterical woman and gave me a prescription for Prozac. I did not fill this prescription and never came back. When later hospitalized for having 18 back to back clonic tonics in an ER he tried to put me on his rounds. I refused to allow him into my room.
Dr Boes is rude, unprofessional, and has a terrible bedside manner. I know others who have also had the unfortunate experience of seeing him as well on a professional basis and I know of no one who has gone back after their initial meeting.
