Dr. Bruening is the medical director of Park Eye & Surgi-Center. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Currently, Dr. Bruening is the Ophthalmology Division Chief of McLaren Regional Medical Center and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Michigan State University’s Department of Surgery/Ophthalmology.
He received his medical degree at the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1980, and went on to become Chief Resident of the Ophthalmology Department at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Wake Forest Medical Center in North Carolina.
Since 1994, Dr. Bruening has practiced at Park Eye & Surgi-Center where he specializes in clear cornea cataract surgery, clear lens refractive surgery, and astigmatism correction. He uses a micro-incision technique that reduces post-operative complications and recovery time. He is a skilled surgeon who has performed over 22,000 surgeries.
