Chris P. Bales, MD

Dr. Chris Bales graduated from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana in 1996. During his four years at Notre Dame he played for the Irish hockey team. In 1998, he received his master's of science from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Dr. Bales received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2002.

He completed his Orthopaedic Surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. In 2008, Dr. Bales completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Stanford University. While at Stanford he was an associate team physician for the Stanford football team. He also was a team physician for Santa Clara University men's and women's soccer and basketball teams. Dr. Bales also assisted with the care of the San Francisco 49er's and worked with the organization during the 2008 NFL combine.

Dr. Bales' work has been published in leading professional journals, including: American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine.
