Dr. Kim McCallum, MD, spoke on Friday, May 6th at the Annual ANAD Midwest Eating Disorder Conference just outside Chicago as an invited guest speaker presenting on "Supporting Families of Adults with Eating Disorders." The presentation taught clinicians and family members the best ways loved ones can support someone struggling with an eating disorder and also how to support themselves through setting healthy boundaries, negotiating involvement, using effective communication, identifying roles within the family unit, nurturing the carer, financial and literary resources, and a uniquely designed family skills checklist: topics for focus in therapeutic work with families struggling with eating disorders.
