Slip out of your old Winter Skin...and into new Summer Skin!

The weather is getting warmer - finally! But what does this mean for the quality of your skin? Make no mistake that your Skin is greatly affected by the outside elements, which is why it is essential to change the way that you care for your skin with each season.

Just as your body needs different clothing to protect it against the changing weather of the Winter months vs. Summer months, your skin has different requirements to properly protect it from the elements. As the body's largest organ, skin is far more delicate than you probably realise.

Winter months generally are colder and drier than summer months when heat and humidity levels are on the rise. When skin is exposed to the winter weather (yes, we even have a "winter" here is Southern California), it takes a beating, becoming excessively dry, irritated and chapped. Translation...I put tons of lotion on but it never seems to be enough and I STILL have dry skin!! Constantly running heaters and dehumidifiers sap every bit of moisture from the air.

Lets Start with the most important transition tool: EXFOLIATION!

Since winter weather is normally drier, you can get your skin ready for the hot summer season by exfoliating deeply by getting a salt or sugar scrub to remove an accumulation of dead skin cells that often occurs after the winter season.

Exfoliation also works to stimulate cellular turnover and repair underlying skin damage. This means that if you are struggling with fine lines, skin discoloration, or even breakouts, exfoliation can be your best friend to even out your skin tone and clarify your complexion.

Next on the transition journey is: HYDRATION!

As the weather becomes humid and hotter in the summertime, many women make the mistake of neglecting to moisturize. But doesn't that seem counterproductive? Not at all! If you want to keep your SKIN HAPPY and balanced, you must moisturize daily, regardless of the weather and getting periodic MOISTURIZING MASSAGES AND BODY WRAPS IS A PLUS!! My treatments include clays, essential oils and additives to encourage regeneration of cells and supreme hydration.

This will prevent your skin from drying out from a lack of moisture. Neglecting to moisturize will leave yourskin dehydrated, weak, and susceptible to sun damage in the summer season.

Which leads us to your final transition tool: SPF!

Last but not least, always, always, always use an SPF every single day before you leave the house regardless of the season. This will keep your skin protected from the harmful UVA rays of the sun that are present even on the cloudiest days and can cause underlying damage in your complexion to create premature wrinkles...and who want those??!!
