Health Care

I am a 24 year old female. When I was 18, I was a passenger in a car accident. I started suffering from daily, level 10 headaches, that were constant. I tried looking for answers and finding answers about headaches, I found are not black and white. I traveled to Michigan, Chicago, and St. Louis trying to find answers. I finally found a neurosurgeon who diagnosed me with having occipital neuralgia. Since the diagnosis, I have undergone more than 10 surgeries to get rid of the pain.

My main question is that, I am getting ready to turn 25. I am going to be kicked off my parent's insurance and am going to have to find independent insurance. I was told by a doctor that since I have had all these medical problems, that I should always have insurance. I have just returned to school about a year ago and really cannot afford insurance. I am going to look into insurance through my college, Cobra, and Medicaid. My mother spoke with a friend recently and was told that with my condition and all my surgeries that Cobra could cost me $1200 a month!!! There is no way I could afford that. I just had a recent surgery November 23, and may have to undergo more because I am still have complications, so finding any kind of job on top of college is incredibly hard! Does anyone have any advice on what I should do for healthcare.
