Benefits of Yoga for All Ages

Why has yoga has been around for thousands of years? What is it really about? If you have never practiced yoga, this question may stump you for an answer. If you have practiced, you should already have an indication of the answer.

The practice of yoga and the attributes of a yogic lifestyle apply to all areas of life. Whether you are five years old or sixty, yoga is applicable to your life. What one learns from practicing the postures - such as strength, balance, focus, concentration, flexibility, etc. - can be transmitted into your practice of daily life.

A practitioner learns how to be strong and flexible not only in their bodies, but in their minds. One learns how to concentrate, focus and relax on and off the yoga mat. It is important to make this connection. Otherwise, if you don't particularly enjoy exercising, you may miss the mark of yoga completely.

The exercises keep us healthy, our bodies limber to carry us through the times, and stop the mind from feeling overwhelmed, confused, and unfocused. Yoga is a practice that can stay with you until the end of your days. It has been around for thousands of years because of its power to change lives, to teach people about themselves and the world around them.

Namaste.
