Dr. Phillip Nelson Ophthalmologist Toledo, Ohio

I am writing this blog today to explain why I would never go to see Dr. Phillip Nelson. One being as a Legal Assistant to an Attorney; one knows in the state of Ohio how hard it is to win a Malpractice suit against a Doctor. Unless you are a child or what the doctor did wrong caused you to go completely blind you will not win a cause in court.

The doctor herds people in and out to make more money. You sit in his waiting room for about a half hour. Then the prognosis was wrong, calling the problem Pars Planitis instead my husband had Coates disease, the difference is Coates disease happens to one eye where Pars Planitis happens to both eyes. My husband told Dr. Nelson the end of May that something really serious was going on in his eye and he referred my husband to an optic nerve specialist also in Toledo, Ohio. He spent four more months going to the optic nerve where nothing was found. My husband was tired of the doctor not finding anything and called Cleveland Clinic for an appointment. We went to Cleveland Clinic and not more than a minute the optic nerve specialist found the problem had my husband go down to get an ultrasound done on his eye and they found both the Coates disease and the torn retina. We were told the longer the retina was torn the less the chance of my husband getting his sight back.

My husband is a feeder driver (big trucks) and now is unable to drive. We no longer have his good income we only have about a third of his income with disability. I am glad I am working however in this economy who knows how long that will last.

So my advise for anyone who has eye problems, go to Cleveland Clinic do not go to anyone in Toledo, Ohio!

Of course these are my words only and my thoughts on the matter you can make up your own mind in regard to the above.
