I have been in so much pain that I couldn't take anymore...so I made an appointment with the Doctor who first diagnosed me with fibromyalgia 6 years ago. It has gotten so bad that I could barely get up no less be productive in any way. Thank God that I have a job that would allow me to work from home. Fortunetly this is our slow season which is about to change. I live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan (the city)which is important to know because you then will understand that I take mass transit to work. I have to climb up and down subway stairs, sometimes to flights down or up. Once the train comes 9 times out of 10 I have to stand majority of the ride. I have to mention this so that you can understand the strain on my body going and coming from work. I should also mention that the fatigue that goes along with this disease is unbarable.
So I see the doctor and discover that I have gained even more weight, now 181 lbs. I am only 5"1 how disgusting. The doctor wasn't surprised at the weight gain due to my symptoms increasing. I can barely get up in the morning no less be active or exercise. That's why I was there, to get any help. I beleive it's time for medication. After my exam my doctor took blood test for rheumatoid to thyroid. Fibromayalgia is a painful disorder in the muscle tissue and ligamens. I here recently have had joint problems as well. My next appointment is March 2nd where I will get the results from the blood test. In the mean time my doctor put me on 2 medications for the Fibromyalgia which are Cyclobenzaprine and Amitriptyline which the side affects include This is very scary..I have been on these meds for almost 2 weeks. I am sleeping a lot better but the sence of anxiousness has increased. I still have soreness in my muscles but not as bad. My joints on the other hand are still stiff and painful.
I can't wait to get this pain managed so that I can be more active..activity leads to exercise...execise leads to weight loss..which leads to better health. I'll keep you posted.
I am a 43 year old woman who suffers from fibromyalgia, high blood pressure and asthma. Due to this disorder2 I have very low energy and extreme pain which has limited my activities. I have gained so much weight that it’s become another problem. My goal is to loose weight and raise my energy level.
