it is nice and cool tonight -- it won't last long so I am enjoying it. Probably only a few more nights before the heat sets in until October or November. The heat is hard on me. Makes me weak as a newborn kitten. Maybe that is the result of the electric biil? smiles... Have found that volunteering my time and what talents are left to different places allows me to feel like I am still useful. This weekend we have a drill at the fire academy for CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Teams) Last night I was at Red Cross taking a HAm radio class. Hubby and I volunteer for both organizations. In all there are 8 organizations that we volunteer for. My service dog in training, Hannah, is in a barking stage. She is 10 months old -- a Great Pyrenees. Right now she looks like a white Golden Retriever. She is sweet, full of energy and loves just being a dog. I hope and pray the barking stops or she will have to change careers to REALLY just being a dog. Patches, my service dog, isn't ready to retire just yet but will be ready by the time Hannah (hopefully!) is ready to fill the harness. She is beautiful, an old soul, and a wonderful working partner. She is 1/2 Anatolian Shepherd and 1/2 Great Pyrenees. There is another love in my life. Dalton is my grandson and it is wonderful when he gets to come up and see me. We try to get tto Gainesville to see him as much as we can.
Christian but not a church goer, married for 35 years. One son, a daughter in law and 2 1/2 year old grandson. Slowly being dragged towards being wheelchair bound by severe arthritis but am looking for ways to stay on my feet. Have a WONDERFUL service dog and a second dog in training as her replacement.
