Several years ago, I had the privilege of hearing Dr. Norman Vincent Peale speak on the topic of his book, "The Power of Positive Thinking." Although some of the ideas are rather simplistic, I have found through the years that his method to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts really works! When I am in a grumpy mood, I place a rubber band around my wrist, and when a negative thought enters my mind, I snap my wrist and replace the thought with a positive event. Within a short time, my mood has improved and I am a much happier person to be around.

What's the point of positive thinking? It'll never work for me, nothing ever does! Just kidding. :-) Yes, I think that thinking positive is the most important thing we can do in life. It's even more important than exercise and diet, although that's no excuse not to do those things either.
I think a lot of people get into these cycles where they know they have negative thoughts, but they can't stop them. What's the remedy for these people?
