What's Fueling the Vaccine/Autism Connection National Debate?

  • How or why it can possibly be that most (if not all) mainstream media actually 100% agree with the pro-vaccine groups over the anti-vaccine crowd. What other national debate can that be said about? In fact, journalists have often been portrayed or viewed as devil's advocates. In this instance, however, all of them seem to agree with very few exceptions? Is it any wonder that this almost overwhelming camaraderie/uncharacteristic brotherhood is suspected of being, at best, paid for or orchestrated by some powerful entities?
  • The fact that the scientific community (not to mention mainstream media, which appears to often take sides, depending on which side pays best or has the most pull) has often lied to Americans regarding major national debate issues. The connection between smoking and cancer is a glaring example. For years, Americans were told by mainstream media and supposedly well-respected government agencies and scientists that there was no connection. How can Americans be confident they are not being lied to again?
  • The childish, disrespectful, underhanded and blatantly unscientific tactics of the pro-vaccine groups. Why, for example, do they feel it's necessary to make fun of people who say anything negative against vaccines? In fact, anyone who voices a negative opinion about vaccines is, all of a sudden, a clueless, misinformed clown--this is especially egregious when used in reference to a formerly well-respected academician, physician, scientist, journalist, etc. Another reprehensible tactic is the use of bad science to scare people into siding with the pro-vaccine crowds. Telling people, for example, that unvaccinated children will revive the bubonic plague (or other similarly ludicrous claims); for the record, we don't need to vaccinate a whole population in order to keep diseases in check.
