Paranoid Cynic, Alert Consumer or Naive Wallflower--Which One Are You?

Paranoid Cynics

A Paranoid Cynic tends to believe just about every conspiracy theory out there; he/she is also very open to any attack on established conventions and facts. Accordingly, these people may even be called iconoclasts, although the term "maverick" is probably more appropriate. As for their mental health, they may or may not be suffering from psychological ailments.

The important thing to note here is that these people are always looking for something wrong in everything they see, hear and experience. In other words, they want to believe that trouble is just around the corner. In this regard, they are gullible but that is not to say that they are necessarily lacking in intelligence, education or life experience. In fact, it is because of some actual bad experience or a series of them that they have formed this peculiar type of personality.

What is interesting about these people (notwithstanding their penchant to too easily believe rumors, innuendos, and theories) is that they often see trouble much sooner than other people. In fact, they can be used as a good gauge of impending doom, although it may sometimes be difficult to tell when they are right and when they may merely be sounding a false alarm. And finally, there's the next type of individual who many others aspire to become.
