The Pathway to True Self

Introspectively, as we begin to search for life meaning and purpose; we arrive at a crossroad of who we really are in differenitating between "ego-self" and "true-self."

Ego-self is focused on the "outside" world, power & status with a strong focus on hedonistic pleasures that are bottomless; never completely satisfied; always looking for more. Ego-self focuses on "I," separating self from other and the importance is placed on putting "I" first. Ego-self suffers with fear and anxiety and "worries" become center to fear of loss.

True-self is focused on the "inside" of self, operating on a higher level of consciousness. True-self seeks meaning & truth and has higher values: compassion, self-love, service to others and focuses on growing from the "inside." True-self does not separate "I" from "other;" rather, there is a view of unity--oneness of all that is! True-self does not operate from motivation of fear; instead, true-self operates from joy and peace--preferring to see all the possibilites; rather than all the limitations.

The first step towards discovering true-self is to acknowledge the wounded ego-self...
