• Addictions Counseling
As a Certified Addictions Counselor, I work with clients struggling with a variety of addictions or addictive tendencies. My primary focus is working with people with eating disorders. This includes compulsive overeating, bulimia and anorexia. I also work with other addiction issues including alcohol, drug and process addictions such as workaholics, shopaholics, gambling addicts, etc. I help my clients to get to the underlying cause of the addiction and work through the emotions involved. I also see clients who are affected by addictions in their family and are dealing with co-dependency issues.
• Art Therapy
Art therapy is helpful for anyone who wants to explore their life situations. It works by allowing the mind to process information in new ways and to discover and create new possibilities. Art therapy uses different parts of the brain to access and process information than traditional ’talk’ therapy. Thoughts become visible, tangible and accessible through the creative process of art therapy. Quicker results are often experienced through the art therapy process. No artistic abilities are needed, only the willingness to explore. I use art therapy with clients who are interested in learning about different ways to express themselves.
