I provide counseling services to individuals, families and groups dealing with a variety of issues including depression and anxiety, aging and elder care, women’s health, chronic illness, grief and loss, trauma and mental health. I currently facilitate a weekly grief support group where individuals come and share about their loss and support one another along the road to recovery.
I have worked in the human services field for over a decade, most recently focusing on hospice care and grief counseling in particular. Individuals who have worked through their grief often say that they feel stronger and more capable than they did prior to the loss. The personal journey of healing can open you up to new possibilities and relationships and give you a greater sense of self. A therapeutic relationship can be as a sanctuary where one can feel seen, heard and understood. Facing the unknown, due to loss, bereavement, an unexpected life change or chronic illness, can feel daunting. The presence of a supportive and comforting person, trained in this work, can help one to move through these challenges, face the future and rebuild a life.
