The mind has a great ability to heal itself, as well as, an amazing capacity to do so. Sharing painful experiences with a therapist can validate the hurts, abuses and tragedies we may have experienced. The decision to seek professional help is often the hardest thing to do, but the most important first step in seeking balance in our lives. My multifaceted experience working with children and adults has provided me with a wealth of knowledge to help you diminish the daily stressors of life. I utilize a non-judgmental, empathetic and respectful approach to therapy in order to develop a trusting and caring rapport with my patients.
I provide therapy for individuals, families, and children in the greater Houston and Cypress, Texas areas. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, and gained status as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after two years of direct clinical therapy hours. This involved working with individuals, adolescents, families in distress, and group therapy to children, all in a variety of settings including group homes, schools, private and community based programs as well as inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities.
My ten years working in the mental health field, six years of which in direct therapy at private and community mental health facilities, has given me exposure to numerous environmental, social and emotional factors which can cause stress, fear, anxiety and depression, as well as, the effects of trauma. My experiences with an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing have been very effective in the healing process of my patients and will be effective for you too.
