Dixie Young, LAc currently practices Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
Dixe uses the time tested tools of acupuncture and herbal medicine, cupping, massage, moxibustion and more to help her patients successfully heal from chronic pain and illness, acute traumatic injury, colds or flu and many other ailments. East Asian medicine is a holistic medicine, a complete medical system that treats the whole person in all potential disorders. If you suffer from chronic fatigue, digestive difficulty, migraines, arthritis or chronic muscle pain, painful periods, depression, anxiety, or other transitional disorders, try acupuncture first and start feeling better now.
At the core of Dixie’s practice is the idea of meeting people where they are, knowing from experience that through their work with holistic medicine and healing practitioners they will get better. Those incremental changes and evident improvements snowball and before long people are surprising even themselves with greater vitality and well being. This path to greater health is unique to every individual, and Dixie can help you get there.

CHRONIC MYOFASCIAL PAIN
You may have recently heard of Trigger Points, aka "Ah Shi" points translated as "tender points". These painful areas can be relieved by therapies that eliminate stagnation and facilitate free movement. Layers of connective tissue or fascia, muscles and skin should smoothly move over each other as needed for full, pain free range of motion. Through repetitive motion, disuse of full range of motion or traumatic injury adhesions are formed and tissues become bound, creating stagnation and pain that centralizes in these tender points and can radiate pain throughout the body.
Acupuncture, Massage, and movement therapies area effective treatments to eliminate stagnation and pain.
