I am an endocrinologist who has worked for large medical groups across Southern California.
After obtaining my M.D. at Georgetown University School of Medicine I did my residency at the Cornell Cooperating Hospital House Staff Training Program in New York. I finished fellowships in endocrinology at the New York Hospital and UCLA-Wadsworth VA where I became Assistant Chief of Endocrinology before leaving for clinical practice.
At UCLA I continue to teach and practice as a full clinical professor. I am a member of several professional societies including the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the American Thyroid Association. I have served on several national and local committees for several of these organizations. I am past President of the Los Angeles County Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and an advisor to groups such as The American College of Medical Quality and the Rand Corp. I presently consult for the Medical Board of California of which I was a member, for Medicare, and for the Center for Health Dispute Resolution. I was a Joint Commission surveyor for the California Department of Health Services and the Institute for Medical Quality.
I’m an invited speaker at national, professional, and community meetings and have served on the editorial advisory boards and review panels for several journals as well as publishing original articles in the fields of thyroid, diabetes, calcium, adrenal, sexual function, delivery of health care, and disease state management.
