Dr. David Kaplan is the Chief Podiatrist and owner of Foot Care Specialists Inc., A Podiatry Group. A graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Kaplan did his residency in Detroit, Michigan and entered practice in the Detroit area in 1976. While there, he became the director of the Sidney A. Sumby Memorial Hospital Podiatric Residency in River Rouge, Michigan and lectured nationally on Laser Surgery and Physics. Dr. Kaplan moved to the Bay Area and settled in Half Moon Bay in 1986 and established offices in San Mateo in 1987 and Half Moon Bay in 1998.

Dr. Kaplan continued working with podiatric residents at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco up until the time the program moved to the East Bay.

Dr. Kaplan is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Podiatry Examiners and a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California.

Dr. Kaplan is on the staffs of Mills-Peninsula Hospitals and Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the California Podiatric Medical Association.
