Dr. Davoodi completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, in 1986 and completed a 3-year Family Medicine residency in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1989. He specializes in Family Medicine and has been board-certified since 1989. He is also board-certified in Sleep Medicine. He has been practicing in the area intermittently since 1992. Dr. Davoodi's ancestry is from the Bakhtiari Tribe. Many of his summers during childhood were spent in the Bakhtiari mountains, which he still recalls fondly.
He is an active member of the The Bahá'í Faith. He views each personal as a spiritual being regardless of their religious affiliation or lack thereof. This means that each person must be treated respectfully regardless of their station in society.
