Dr. Barry is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic where
he received his Doctoral Degree in Chiropractic. He completed his doctoral thesis and had post
graduate training in Manipulation Under Anesthesia. In addition to studying Chiropractic, he also
obtained a Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition and Clinical Metabolism from the
University of Bridgeport Nutrition Institute. His graduate thesis work includes chromium picolinate
for the enhancement of glucose utilization in type II diabetic patients. Dr. Barry earned his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Connecticut.
He has studied nutrition and metabolism extensively and received post-graduate training and
certification in Personalized Metabolic Nutrition and Metabolic Typing. He is Board Certified in
Clinical Nutrition through the National Certification Board of Clinical Nutritionists and a member of
the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutrition.
Dr. Barry has studied Acupuncture extensively and received post-graduate training and
certification in Orthopedic Acupuncture. He earned his Fellowship and Diplomate in Acupuncture
through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in conjunction with New York
Chiropractic College and Logan College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Barry is an adjunct professor of Sports Medicine and Nutrition at Quinnipiac University. He
serves as the Director, Lecturer, and Clinical Instructor for the Post-Graduate Acupuncture
Certification Program for Physicians at Briarwood College. In addition, he is an adjunct professor
at Gateway Community College teaching general biology, anatomy, and physiology. He is the
Founder and Clinical Director of Chiropractic, Acupuncture & Nutrition Health Care Center of
Hamden, LLC.
Dr. Barry is also active in the Hamden Community where he resides. He serves on the Board of
Commissioners for the Commission on Disabilities and Opportunities. He also serves on the Board
of Directors for the Hamden Chamber of Commerce. He is actively involved in the Health and
Fitness Committee as well as Chairman for the Hamden Chamber Business Leads Group. He is
the Team Physician for Platt Tech Panthers Football as well as Temple Medical for the New Haven
School System.
Dr. Barry has been recognized with several prestigious awards in 2007. He was voted the
Advocate Best of New Haven Readers’ poll for best acupuncturist in New Haven County in 2007.
The New Haven Business Times selected Dr. Barry as Greater New Haven’s "Forty Under 40
Award", and was recognized for professional success and community involvement. He was
recently honored with the 2007 Volunteer Award for his support and dedication to the Hamden
Chamber of Commerce.
