Catherine is a certified Birth Doula living in Northern Westchester with her husband and daughter Vivian. Having come from a very large family where babies were almost always being born, she became fascinated with pregnancy and childbirth. “Whenever a sister or a loved one was in labor, I always wanted to go and be with them.” Catherine always loved to listen to her aunt and mother’s stories of giving birth to their children, as well as their stories of supporting their daughters through childbirth. After her daughter was born, Catherine decided to leave her profession in museum administration to start a new path as a Birth Doula. She is honored to be a doula and honored to provide support to expectant families on this unique and exciting journey. Catherine is also fluent in the German language as she lived there independently for more than four years.
Catherine's experience covers Lamaze Education, Alternative Ways of Pushing, Breastfeeding, and VBAC. She is currently working towards a certification as a childbirth educator through the Aviva Institute. Childbirth classes will be available to expectant families in Fall 2009.
