I began my career in health care over 30 years ago. As a Registered Dietitian, I’ve provided nutrition counseling in Hospitals, Clinics, home settings and fitness settings to hundreds of clients with large service contractors such as Marriott, Morrisons, Sodexo, Compass Canada and Whittaker. Much of this work was presenting clients with instructions, education, materials and strategies to help them improve their Nutritional well-being.
Providing an individual with educational information was no guarantee they would change and shape new sustainable health promoting behaviors. Through advanced studies in behavioral health, theories of change, and health and wellness, and an advanced degree in Health Administration, I created Living Better Life and Wellness Coaching to combine my knowledge and experience of health and wellness with coaching skills to offer people an affordable way to get support in achieving their Health, Nutrition, and Wellness goals and aspirations.
Nutritional health is only one integral component contributing to an individual’s total well-being. At Living Better Life and Wellness Coaching, as a Registered Dietitian and Wellness Coach, I work with both individuals and business wellness programs. I partner with people who are ready to reboot their life, by improving Life Satisfaction, achieving a Healthy Weight, discovering their best Exercise Routine, increase Energy and Vitality, creating a state of Emotional Fitness or Improving Stress Resilience. Together, we create an enhanced level of self-awareness, and mindfulness that brings out their greatness to create extraordinary results, allowing them to become the person they want to be and to live the life they want to live...one step at a time.
All coaching is conducted through the telephone and includes; self assessments, diet outlines, meal plans, food, hunger and exercise logs, and reference materials. Success is achieved through a process of developing realistic action oriented goals, discovering the barriers to achieving the desired results, creating strategies to overcome the barriers, and follow up and accountability.
The degree of success in achieving desires changes in well-being and developing health promoting behaviors is determined, to some degree, on an individual’s stage of readiness to change.
