Erica Andersen is a long native of Pennsylvania. She was born and raised in Newtown Pa, then received her Bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University in Media Communications. Upon graduation in 1991 she proceeded to work in the field of Film and Video production throughout the Philadelphia and tri state area. After accepting a marriage proposal from her long time college boyfriend the two settled in the Pocono Mountains. She took a full-time position with a software development company in training and education. During this time, she discovered her love for teaching others. Her position required much travel throughout North America, which created a difficulty after beginning her family in 1997. She struggled like most mothers with balancing children, family and work. Over the next 4 years and 3 new children later, she found her practice in yoga was the magic thread keeping things together for her. There was then a moment in one of her classes, she felt a calling to bring her love of teaching to a new subject which was to become Yoga. In 2006 she begin her training and certification in Hatha Yoga with <url removed> . Within that same year she gave up her corporate consulting and began teaching yoga in her local community. After obtaining her Register Yoga Teaching Certification in Hatha Yoga in the Svaroopa Style and Embodyment Yoga Therapy Certification in 2007, she opened her own yoga studio and wellness Center in Mountainhome Pa. Although her love for yoga was being shared within her community, she realized she now missed her family that was still in the Newtown area. During a intensive self study program in 2009 with her swami Nirmalananda, she knew she was to return to her hometown and share the teachings she had learned to a larger community. She is currently teach classes, workshops and offering private yoga therapy out of several Yoga studios in Bucks County and continues her studies with Swami Nirmalanda and the Master Yoga Foundation.
