My treatment approach is strength-based and collaborative. I believe that the best way to help people overcome obstacles in their lives is by helping them identify their strengths so that they can use these as tools in the process of change. I have found this approach to be successful in addressing clients of all ages and with a wide range of treatment issues including anxiety, depression, loss, grief, relationship issues, stress management, anger management, academic difficulties, occupational difficulties and others. I can address these issues through individual, family and group treatment.
My background is in both clinical and school settings, so I am able to help children, adolescents, parents and adult students to improve their academic experiences through psychotherapy, assessment and consultation with schools. I am able to participate in IEP meetings and assist in academic and behavioral programming to address emotional and learning needs.
I believe that the client is the expert on him or herself, so the therapist’s role is to help clients to find the solutions to their difficulties through listening, asking questions, providing support and educating the client on the interplay of thoughts, feelings and behaviors. My treatment is tailored to each clients individual needs.
