Janys Murphy

Interests: My approach is holistic, eclectic, and research based. My counseling style is nurturing, honest, and personable. Counseling modalities include Health Psychology, Mindfulness, Body Centered Counseling, Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I work primarily with adolescents and adults in need of individual, couple, group, and family counseling. I have extensive experience in chemical dependency counseling. Client problems commonly addressed include relationship issues, codependency, substance abuse, body image, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, women’s issues, spiritual and life transitions. I have a special interest in helping families with children who have disabilities. I am an experienced group facilitator with a background in experiential therapy. I am available for consultation and public speaking.
