I have been diagnosed as bi-polar. I take medications prescribed to me by Dr. Freeland. These medications seem to manage my mania/depression symptoms. I am married and am 46 years of age. Before seeing Dr. Freeland I had ECT (electro convulsive therapy) at Berkeley Therapy Institute. The staff and Dr's at this Institute are very well trained. I will say though the procedure of ECT is EXTREMELY terrifying. I also think that it should be outlawed! Some of my family members have said I am better after I had these treatments and some say I am not. I myself know that having this procedure has wiped out my memory on a lot of things. They will tell you that there (may) be (some) temporary memory loss. I have experienced long term memory loss. I had the procedures done approx. 8 years ago and to this day I have a VERY hard time with my memory. It really gets embarrasing. I had the procedures done to me 3 times a week for approx. 2 months. Again as I said before I feel that the Berkeley Therapy Institute's ECT Department's staff and Dr.s are VERY personable and they do their best to make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible. It is just the procedure of the ECT that I am so against.

Interests: My one major interest I have is my dog Bernie. He is my best friend. I would do anything for this little guy. I am also very lucky to have a wonderful husband of 11 years now. The rest of my family are supportive of me also. I guess you could say I am a very lucky girl!
