Dr. Derek Taylor, D.C.
Derek Matthew Taylor was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii on January 31, 1967. He graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School in 1985. He attended El Camino College and Cal State Dominguez Hills where he took his pre-professional courses.
Dr. Taylor was trained and certified in the Nimmo Receptor Tonus Technique (Travel Myofascial Release work) prior to attending chiropractic school.
He then attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now called Southern California University of Health Sciences) where he was the president of the Gonstead technique Club. There he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated, with honors, for his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1993.
At Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, throughout the different graduation activities, Dr. Taylor’s classmates voted him ‘Most Likely to Succeed’. He was also a member of the Dean’s list, Delta Sigma honorary Scholastic Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Taylor has lectured nationally since 1993 on the subject of health and nutrition. Derek Taylor loves helping people regain their health. He has been blessed to help others over the past 15 years by using innovative approaches & technology that focus on addressing the root cause of the problem.
His approach to helping others is unique in that he uses the latest technology while he addresses the whole person, working with the physical, chemical and emotional aspects of one’s health. Some of the innovate post graduate courses Dr. Taylor has been trained &/or certified in are the Nimmo Receptor Tonus Technique (Travel Myofascial Release), Graston Technique, Body Restoration Technique, Biocranial Therapy, Neuro-Emotional technique, Reflex Nutrition Assessment, Gonzalez Rehab Technique, Matrix re-patterning, Neuromuscular Reeducation technique, and Dynamic Joint Response.
He utilizes, with great success, the class IV Avicenna Laser & K-Laser for a variety of conditions that include but are not limited to arthritis, neck & back injuries, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, muscle & ligament tears, knee and hip pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle & foot conditions, pain following surgery, herniated discs and more.
Combining powerful technology with innovative techniques, Dr. Taylor has developed his own ‘breakthrough’ treatment method that is unique to his profession. He has discovered that many complaints often stem from a source that is coming from another location in the body. Once the root cause of the problem is detected and corrected, the symptoms often disappear. The results after treatment are often immediate, longer lasting and nothing short of amazing!
He is currently licensed for chiropractic in the state of California where he is the director of the Taylor Chiropractic & Laser Center. Dr. Taylor also holds licenses for chiropractic in the states of Ohio and Hawaii.
Dr. Taylor resides in the South Bay where he loves spending time with his wife, Ali, and five children- Hudson, Jonathan, Caden, Dallas, and McKenna.
