Dr. Charles has been in practice for 32 years and has a diverse background in Functional Medicine, Functional Neurology and Toxicology.

By the time many patients find our clinic, they’ve usually tried everything with no real help, answers or explanations and therefore feel hopeless. Our mission is to restore hope and that’s what we try to do in our office every day.

We use a non-drug approach to effectively treat a wide variety of chronic conditions, such as various Auto-immune conditions, Thyroid issues, Chronic Pain, Neuropathy IBS and more.

The traditional medical model where the patient is viewed in PARTS using a symptom-oriented approach. However, I use a Functional Medicine/Neurology approach that looks at the WHOLE person and how all the systems of the body constantly affect each other. This model seeks to find and correct the deeper, underlying causes of disease, instead of trying to cover up symptoms.

The real game changer in my practice is the Toxicology piece of the puzzle. I’ve found in my practice that toxicity is often the primary contributing factor to many people’s health issues. I am able to find what specific heavy metals, chemicals, parasites, radon (radioactive gas) and other toxic elements are present, and where they are hiding in the body. This reveals to me how these toxins are disrupting the body’s ability to function properly so that we can safely and effectively remove them.

I am the only practitioner in Maryland that combines this set of skills, and one of only a handful in the country, certified in this specialized form of toxicity analysis and treatment.
