Dr. Flaum has been dedicated to caring for people for over 40 years. Beginning his career in 1964 at USC and completing his internship at Los Angeles County General Hospital, and nearing his first year as a Pediatric Resident, he took his skills as a with him as he was drafted by the U.S. Army, and provided much needed care at Fort Lee, Virginia and Quang Ngha, Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He became a Captain and Commander in Charge of a 750 bed Vietnamese hospital and the Troop dispensary during his tour. For his services be was awarded a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service.
Upon returning to the States, Captain Flaum resumed his medical career completing his Residency in Otolaryngology at USC Medical Center from 1968-1972.
Dr. Flaum established his private practice in 1972 and was affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology. He also shared his gifts with hundreds of Children in need of his Pediatric specialty at Children's Hospital throughout his career.
His skills as a head and neck surgeon has saved the lives of children that otherwise would not have survived.
Dr. Flaum has been called on as a Medical Expert bringing his extensive knowledge to assist in trials. He continues to serve the public as a Doctor and Medical Expert.
Multiple articles noted in textbooks and peer-reviewed journals have been written about Dr. Flaum and his expertise.
