I am a board-certified clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults with problems ranging from depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, sexual addiction, growing up in a dysfunctional family, low self-esteem, repeating painful patterns or generally not feeling good about one's life. I currently work with adults as individuals or in a coupleship. My work is informed by psychoanalytic and attachment theories as well as interpersonal neurobiology (a la Dan Siegel and Alan Schore), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) as well as Humanistic theories. When working with couples I use the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) developed by Stan Tatkin, PsyD. As a therapist I am warm and personable but also professional. I believe in holding clients accountable for creating the life they want but also offer compassion in that we all come into adulthood with "baggage" and that sometimes we don't even know what all of it contains! I believe that therapy can be a safe and supportive environment to "unpack" those bags and decide what to keep and what to jettison. I also know that sometimes we get in our own way and as a therapist I can help with an outside/objective perspective on where a person may be holding themselves back without even realizing it. I love what I do and clients tell me that shows and that working with me feels genuine and helpful.
