Brittany Alexis Tinkler is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (ISW 9376). Brittany received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, with a Concentration in Anthropology, from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2008, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. Brittany has an extensive background working with both adolescents and adults and is experienced in Anxiety, Depression, Stress Management, Relationship Issues, LGBTQ, Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Grief and Loss.
Brittany is very empathetic, compassionate, and builds rapport with her clients as her office is a judgment free zone. Brittany’s Clinical Social Work background has furthered her ability to understand individuals in relation to their environment. Brittany explains to her clients that therapy is a process and a time for exploration. Brittany’s Clinical Social Work background has also trained her to meet her clients where they are and she implements a Strengths-Based Perspective with all of her clients, giving them the support and tools to identify and reach their goals.
Brittany’s natural ability to connect with people as well as her Clinical Social Work training allows her to peel back the layers and help her clients make sense of their lived experiences. One of Brittany’s strengths as a therapist is helping her clients view themselves with a more compassionate lens. Brittany’s work with her clients is also geared toward increasing her client’s coping skills, ultimately providing them a sense of empowerment.
Even though Brittany’s work with her clients is specific to the needs of the individual, some of her therapeutic approaches are (but not limited to): Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
After leaving South Florida for 10 years and receiving her education, Brittany has returned to her native land and is very energetic and excited to be able to help people live less stressful and more fulfilling lives.
Brittany sees clients on a sliding scale basis, and is able to take daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. Please call (954) 633-8892 or email brittany@cwcsf.com to set up a free phone consultation.
