Dr. Wardle has had over 40 years of practice as a Licensed Psychologist in three states. She is currently unable to accept new clients, but is referring individuals to Dr. Marvin Fine in the same practice. Her clinical focus has been on individual counseling of adolescents and adults, marital/family therapy and hypnotherapy. She works to assist clients in developing effective coping skills through challenging times in life. Diverse issues are addressed, such as life transition matters (marital, retirement, grief, decision making), anger management, habit disorders, anxiety, and depression. Evaluations are provided as appropriate, particularly for clients needing psychological clearance for surgery. Clinical hypnosis is a skill that Dr. Wardle has utilized extensively as appropriate in her practice for issues such as habit control (e.g. smoking cessation and weight management), ego strengthening, pain management, phobic disorders, hypnobirthing, stress relief and relaxation.
Dr. Wardle has held numerous elected and appointed positions within state and regional professional organizations. She served as Past President of the Psychological Association of Northeastern NY, Founding President of the Association of Psychologists in Independent Practice, and elected representative to the Board of Directors of the NYS Association of School Psychologists. She has served as an Approved Consultant with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Founding President of the Clinical Hypnosis Association of Northeastern New York. Her practice is complimented by that of her colleague, Dr. Marvin Fine, who adds additional breath of experience as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed NYS Marriage and Family Therapist, Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology, national consultant and extensively published author in psychology and education .

Dr. Wardle received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College of Columbia University. Subsequently she received 2 Masters degrees and a Ph.D. from Columbia University in psychology and education. Additional training has been received in the culinary field, in which she holds an Associate degree. She has been certified by the American Association of Culinary Professionals and has been a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. This background compliments her counseling of clients who seek to improve their health and eating habits.
Dr. Wardle was a Fellow of the the National Institute of Mental Health and completed postgraduate work in family therapy under Dr. Murray Bowen at the Family Center of Georgetown University. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels as both an Adjunct Instructor and an Assistant Professor, and has been on staff for Barnard College of Columbia University, Russell Sage College, Adirondack Community College, St. Rose College, and SUNYA.
Permanently certified as a school psychologist in NY and NJ, Dr. Wardle has worked extensively with children, adolescents and their families. This background compliments Dr. Wardle's work with individuals and families in dealing with parenting challenges. Currently, direct individual services to young children are being referred to Dr. Marvin Fine in this practice.
This office participates in most insurance plans, and in such instances clients are responsible for their outpatient mental health copay. Clients are urged to check with their insurance plans for the participation of this office with that plan and clarity of the copayment status.
