Balaji Perumal, M.D. is an Ophthalmic Plastic, Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Eye Surgeon at D'Ambrosio Eye Care. Dr. Perumal earned his Medical Degree at Duke University School of Medicine, followed by an Internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute and an intensive two year fellowship sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Dr. Perumal has specialized interest and training in all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial surgery including periocular skin cancer, eyelid tumors, eyelid reconstruction, ptosis repair, cosmetic blepharoplasty eyelid surgery, orbital tumors, endoscopic brow lift for droopy eyebrows, entropion and ectropion repair, lacrimal system & tearing disorders and thyroid eye disease.

In addition Dr. Perumal works to help patients look their best with facial rejuvenation, using an entire range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments including BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport® and Xeomin®, as well as gel fillers including Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Juvéderm® Voluma® and BELOTERO BALANCE® Injections to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and smooth the folds and wrinkles from the nose to the corner of mouth. For those patients in need of help with puffy, baggy or tired looking eyelids, Dr. Perumal performs cosmetic eyelid plastic surgery including "eye lifts" or blepharoplasty to achieve a more youthful appearance.

Dr. Perumal is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).
