Purposeful Individual Development
I believe that knowledge can be a powerful tool during your pregnancy and into your first years as a parent. Connecting expecting families and new parents to the resources and services they need is my goal.

I see my clients as whole people part of a family or community and feel they should be supported and developed as parents, professionals, and individuals. Preparing for parenthood brings with it many expectations. The choices and opinions available to modern parents can be overwhelming. I partner with you to take ownership of your experience.  We will plan for your journey from preparing the nursery to making choices around reintegrating your career. My clients feel support and ownership of their choices and personalization of their experience. I am here to assist you in achieving your goals and redefining your new identity as a parent and professional.

I love that there are many ways to create a family and am happy to work with anyone who is about to be a part of the life of a new child. My practice is affirming of all types of sexuality (LGBTQI) and lifestyles. Honoring each individual’s lifestyle and sexuality is incredibly important to me, as is knowing the bounds of my competence. I will work with parents to understand their roles in relation to each other and to their child.

Passion for Community
I pride myself in being an active member of the Atlanta community and value the work that people here in the city are doing to make it a better place to live for all its residents.  I have been fortunate to have family and friends in my life who have supported me in my transition to motherhood with time, gifts, listening ears and physical care. In our city, not all mothers or babies are so lucky.

Atlanta is home to one of the nation's largest refugee populations. Many families are dealing with issues of resettlement like language, housing and employment on top of the needs of being a new family. I partner with Atlanta agencies to provide free career and postpartum transition workshops to mothers who may be getting their footing here in the US.

In addition, families may struggle to simply find the supplies they need to make it through the first weeks of their baby's life. In service to this cause, I work with my clients (through charity showers) to match new and gently used baby supplies and gear with organizations serving families in need. It is amazing to see how something that to so many families becomes useless clutter can make a world of difference in the lives of others.

Work-Life Transition Planning
Planning for entering and returning from postpartum leave can feel like a part time job. We can assist with everything the nuts an bolts of creating plans and checklists to preparing for the emotional experiences of leaving your child for the first time or the struggles of surviving meetings on 3 hours of sleep. Perhaps your new little one has you thinking of a career change. Our career coaching services can help you assess your goals, make realistic plans and stay motivated toward your new role.

Career Document Review
Maybe you just need an extra eye on the main tools you use connect with your next job. I am happy to review resumes, cover letters, and LinkdIn profiles to help you maximize your potential and even spotlight some of the skills you have acquired from being a parent balancing life and work.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Coaching
Pregnancy itself can be overwhelming as you make your way through the physical and mental journey toward becoming a parent, we offer a listening ear and support with the changes you may be experiencing. Likewise, preparing for and entering parenthood is a major task. We are pleased to collaborate with you and a partner to foster conversations and discover ways of maintaining your relationship and your goals.

Minimalist Nursery Preparation and Registry Consultation
Upon finding out I was pregnant, I was bombarded with suggestions on what to buy and what babies "can't live without." We can help in planning for a what you will need to bring your baby home comfortably without overwhelming your home or your wallet with gear. Whether you are interested in being eco-friendly or simply don't have a lot of space, we can help you plan for what will be critical for your child and what luxuries you can add later or avoid all together. Let us help you pack your bags for the hospital or figure out how to get all of your pumping supplies into the office!

Charity Showers and Donations
Sometimes we are privileged to have so much in our lives. Often clients find themselves with multiple friends or family wanting to throw showers or to provide gifts. We offer an alternative means to celebrate without accumulating more gear. A charity shower can be hosted by Feathered Nest or simply partner with us to provide a charity registry and to donate gifts to a charity with need.
