We conduct substance abuse interviews with people, inmates and/or the general public, recommend rehab placement, and transport them to appropriate treatment facilities. A Substance Abuse Assessment addresses the scope of a person’s alcohol or drug use, utilizing DSM 5 criteria. It is helpful in determining if the substance use has moved from experimental to a problem level requiring help.

A person in addiction may not be able to fully see, understand, or accept their disease and an intervention (legal, medical, family) may be eminent. The person may be required by the court to have a Substance Abuse Assessment. Sometimes, a Substance Use Assessment will provide perspective for a person who has concerns about their own substance use. Having an objective Substance Abuse evaluation can be helpful for the individual to make appropriate and responsible decisions regarding their substance use and be helpful in the way of detox, rehab treatment, and/or counseling.

A Substance Use Assessment considers a variety of factors including:

• Consequences of alcohol & drug use and awareness thereof
• Addiction possibility
• Level of addition
• Stage of Recovery
• Life events surrounding drug abuse and addiction
• Treatment options available
• Dual diagnosis factors
• Issues underlying addictive behavior
• Support and barriers to recovery
• Identify triggers for potential relapse risk

After the assessment, we work to find appropriate and available alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs that fit our clients’ needs.

Incarcerated Clients (In jails and prisons) Assessment – Treatment Program Placement - Transport 
Often, addiction leads to a legal intervention due to arrests for possession/theft/dealing or other activities supporting their substance use, resulting in being put into jail or prison.We offer a service of visiting the jail and interviewing inmates to conduct a substance use assessment. Once it is determined that the inmate is aware of their addiction and is accepting of appropriate help, AND if court orders allow for treatment, AND there are no other warrants or holds, then we search for the appropriate and available rehab facility for placement. We will then have the client released to us, and transport them to the rehab facility for placement.

Treatment Philosophy
We believe that addiction is a disease manifested in habitual and excessive substance use and/or behaviors that interfere with an individual's mental and physical health, interpersonal relations, family life, and financial and work capacity. We view addiction as a treatable chronic and progressive disease, with sobriety and recovery being the realistic treatment objective for the patient and their family.

The first goal in treatment is abstinence and sobriety. All treatment activity must support abstinence and sobriety. We believe that addiction is a powerful disease  and that relapse is often part of the recovery process, not a failure. We believe that the patient's family and/or significant others play a key support function in their treatment and sobriety.
