Ignition Fitness & Sports offers an innovative approach to training – building on a solid athletic foundation while staying focused on each athlete's individual goals. Our unique program includes instruction in movement training, injury reduction and rehabilitation, linear and lateral speed techniques, foot speed and agility, explosive power development, proper functional strength training and energy system conditioning. Athletes are closely supervised as the coach takes them through an intense 60-minute workout with attention always being paid to proper technique and safety.
The Workout
The workout consists of functionally sound movement training, strength training and conditioning with a strong focus on basic and proper technique. The workout becomes progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered. The groups are kept small, no more than 12 per group, to allow maximum individual attention.
SPEED - Acceleration, Deceleration, Linear and Lateral Movement Techniques, Running Mechanics, Footwork
EXPLOSIVE POWER - Olympic Lifting, Plyometrics, Medicine Ball, Jumping & Landing Techniques
STRENGTH - Functional Approach, Thorough Instruction, Focus on Upper Body, Lower Body & Core

With each year of it's existence our Individualized Programs have become increasingly popular. Providing a individualized program, our adult memberships are tailored to the needs of the adult fitness client. Whether your goal is weight loss, injury rehabilitation or to simply get a great workout our coaches can cater to the needs of men and women of all ages and fitness levels. We focus daily on improving soft tissue quality and flexibility, increasing upper and lower body power, building full body strength and enhancing your cardiovascular fitness. Simply put our program is designed to help you move better and become healthier than you ever have in your life. During the workout, the group of no more than 12 adults covers the following: Myofascial Release (Foam Roll) Static Stretching Active Warm Up Functional Strength Training & Conditioning.

Movement Screening
We are currently the only Mankato Gym that offers this Assessment and allows us to properly screen you during your time at IFS. We are here to keep you safe, injury free, and reach your goals. Ignitions Functional Movement Screening is performed by our Certified Functional Movement Experts and is in place to put you onto the path of Fitness through a well designed program meant for longevity and overall health.
Put simply, the FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
The Functional Movement Screen Score is used to target problems and track progress. This scoring system is directly linked to the most beneficial corrective exercises to restore mechanically sound movement patterns.
Exercise professionals monitor the FMS score to track progress every 6 weeks to identify those exercises that will be most effective to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual(Essential & Executive Memberships).
