Neurocognitive Assessment
We have been working with children, adolescents, and adults for more than 30 years and have completed more than 5,000 evaluations. People come to CALM with a variety of concerns, including ADHD, learning disabilities, memory impairments, poor academic performance, executive dysfunction, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with social interactions.

Working with complex cases is our specialty. Approximately 85% of our clients seek an evaluation with us after receiving inaccurate or incomplete diagnoses or unsuccessful treatment plans elsewhere. Since many disorders can resemble or complicate attention, learning, and memory problems, we have a conservative and comprehensive approach to the assessment process. Our evaluations include a detailed clinical history and a battery of tests that examine auditory and visual attention, psychological well being, neurocognitive functioning (for example, IQ and memory), social skills, and learning abilities; including academic achievement, reading proficiency, and expressive/receptive language skills.

CALM Expands into New Frontiers With Neurofeedback Therapy

Beginning in May 2019, CALM is excited to expand treatment options for conditions such as Anxiety, Emotional Dysregulation, Insomnia, and ADHD using neurofeedback. Using the new state of the art equipment to measure brainwave activity to harness the power of plasticity; the brain's ability to rewire and reprogram. Each treatment is individualized to the specific strengths and challenges of each person’s unique brain architecture and needs.

Compelling research, especially over the last five years, supports the efficacy of neurofeedback for a variety of conditions. Starting in 2014 when the American Academy of Pediatrics rated neurofeedback with the same class of efficacy as medication for ADHD (Level 1), a large meta-analysis of data (going back 25 years) places neurofeedback high on the list of alternative and complementary therapies for ADHD. The positive change lasts well after the training ends and the benefits may actually increase over time. The newest research indicates for those which medication is not effective or results in intolerable side effects, neurofeedback is definitely worth considering.
