The Care Team is a new in-home companion care company to the Mahoning Valley.  Owned and operated by John and Susan Genaro of Warren, OH.  For the past 16 years, they owned & operated a national mail-order diabetic supply business & are familiar with the needs of seniors in the Mahoning Valley.  Before starting their mail-order business, John had worked as a Social Worker in Charlotte, North Carolina, focusing on the coordination of senior services within Mecklenburg County.  Susan sharpened her administration skills working for one of Charlotte's largest property developers.

John's father & brother were diagnosed with lung cancer, and because their mail-order business was flexible, they moved back to Ohio.  John's mother lived along in her condominium after her husband and son passed away.  Within a matter of time, it became clear that her loss & declining physical health began to affect her life.  She needed assistance with her activities of daily living and the family was having difficulty finding dependable solutions to their mother's care situation.  With a customized care plan, she could have remained in her own condo for years to come.  Through this experience, the Genaro's realized how important it was for seniors to remain independent in their own homes.  Because of changes in Medicare and in their industry, they were looking for another business opportunity and found, "The Senior's Choice."  After some discussion with Steve Everhart, the owner, they realized that they shared the same goals of delivering service a cut above what is expected.

Our Mission is to help seniors and others live confidently and age gracefully in their own homes for as long as possible.  We choose to make a positive difference in the lives of mature adults and families who love them.  The Care Team's team will perform its collective duties with confidence, concern, commitment, cheerfulness and care.  We will treat every contact as a friend, every client as family and perform every task with honor.

Our caregivers are highly screened with professional background checks, their driving records are examined, and they are drug tested. They are bonded & insured for liability, and we also provide workers compensation.  Each caregiver is required to complete a Certified Companion Aide course, which is a study of senior health and care issues.
