Dr. Neigel is a cosmetic surgeon who specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes and face.  She differs from most cosmetic surgeons because she is both an oculofacial plastics surgeon (a specialist trained in plastic surgery around the eyes) and a board certified ophthalmologist (a specialist trained in the treatment of the eyes).  This combination allows her to understand both the functional and the aesthetic aspects of cosmetic surgery around the eyes and face.

Since 1986 Dr. Neigel has specialized in plastic surgery from the forehead to the neck, with a particular emphasis on areas near the eyes and face.  This highly focused specialization means she has extensive practical experience with these surgical procedures.

Dr. Neigel feels it is important that she and her staff spend sufficient time with each patient to answer their questions and help them fully understand the available treatment alternatives.  She and her staff look forward to helping you.

I am Dr. Janet Neigel and I have been in practice since 1986.  During that time I have helped thousands recapture their youth and regain their self-confidence.  I, too, am aging, and I share all of the same concerns as my patients.  I would not conduct any treatment on any patient that I wouldn’t first try on myself, my family, or my own friends.

I, with the support of my staff. am highly selective as to whom I will perform a procedure on, ensuring that the benefits are high and that the risks are always low.

We are a New Jersey based plastic surgery practice, performing cosmetic and laser surgery for the full face and full body. Additionally, we also offer many laser and injectable treatments, such as Botox®, Dysport®, Juvederm®, Restylane®, Sculptra® and Radiesse®, when surgery is not necessary.

One of the many facial surgical procedures we conduct is the blepharoplasty surgery (upper eyelid surgery), which can restore a youthful look with long lasting results.  Blepharoplasty surgery is the removal of skin, muscle and

sometimes fat from the eyelids to enhance the appearance of the area. Blepharoplasty surgery can be done on the upper and the lower eyelid and is frequently requested as upper eyelid lift surgery or lower eyelid lift surgery.

The S-Lift also known as a mini facelift, has certainly become one of the more popular surgeries Dr. Neigel is performing at the Neigel Center.  The S-lift with its minimal “down time” and natural results are two of the reasons for its popularity.  As we get older, our bodies seem to be most affected by gravity.  Our age can show in the area of the lower face, around the mouth and the jaw line.  The S-lift is pulling up from the jaw line and back from the mouth area smoothing out the jaw line jowls and nasal-labial folds (lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth), to give a younger appearance.      Although this is not a full facelift, it is a subtle approach for patients not quite ready for the more involved surgery.  The beauty of this surgery is the minimal post operative period due to the limited swelling and bruising seen afterwards.  One week out of work is the usual time off required, although I have seen a few patients return to work sooner than that.  The surgery is performed under local anesthesia with sedation in our surgical suite.  The incision is in front of the ear only, which usually fades within a few weeks.  Hair styling can disguise the incision line till it fades.  It is also common to see this surgery in conjunction with a neck liposuction and /or filler.  The neck liposuction will correct the “waddle” that some may have under the chin.  Some opt for filler to the nasal-labial lines if they are extremely deep and need a little more than the S-lift can give.  Both surgical combinations yield what the patient is looking for, a refreshed younger looking appearance.  The S-lift is a relatively simple surgery to recover from along with a most pleasant surprise:  the cost.

The Liquid Facelift is the best alternative to a surgical facelift, particularly if you’re either uncomfortable with the idea of surgery or you cannot undergo surgery for health related reasons.  The liquid facelift is also a wonderful option if you’re considering surgery down the road however want to see what results might look like before making the surgical commitment.

As a medical spa, we offer many injectable, laser and spa treatments. Many people ask about collagen as a filler and are concerned with facial collagen injection prices. Facial collagen injections in lips are one way to have more plump, youthful looking lips but there are other safe, dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane® and Juvederm®. These products and facial collagen injections for the face are all non-surgical answers to restoring the lost volume in the face, therefore affording the patient a more youthful appearance.
