Dr. McCormick is one of the best physicians I've ever had. I am a fat woman and had a very specific request of him at the beginning of our appointment: that he talk to me about potential care options (including surgery) and their risks in my current fat body WITHOUT discussing weight loss. I said this to him through tears. Not only was he incredibly kind as I expressed myself, he then also discussed my issue (which did not require surgery) in a way I could understand and remember, never mentioning weight loss as requested. Then he proceeded to talk to me about what surgery would look like on my specific body, despite the fact that surgery was not required. He really took him time to make sure I felt safe, listened to, and respected. This is a man whose capacity for empathy, whose attention to his patients, is clearly second to none. He also shared some stories about himself, clearly to make me feel comfortable. And it worked! Dr. McCormick is an excellent physician, and I would recommend him to anyone who needed to see a gynecologic oncologist.
