I went to Dr Turner to be put on a natural thyroid medication. I have no thyroid due to cancer. He started me on a ridiculously low dosage to be titrated up one week at a time. My blood pressure shot up and I had horrendous headaches. He would not increase it to a therapeutic level in a timely manner. He also would not allow me to get the medication from a pharmacy where my insurance would pay for it, Instead, he wanted me to purchase it out of pocket at his office. His reason was that "we don't want the insurance company to know what we are doing". I seriously felt like I was going to die. He did not listen to me and seemed uninterested in my blood pressure and headache issues even after I told him that I felt I was on far too low of a dosage of medication since I don't have a thyroid.
