At the urging of my girlfriend in 2006, I saw this person (I won 't even call him a doctor) to help alleviate my neck pain. It turned out to be the worst decision I've made in my entire life. First, I should have been tipped off because the guy is obese, which I find very strange considering he claims to be a health care professional. Second, he seemed more interested in the car I was driving and his boating excursions than the condition of my neck and spine.

It was about the third trip where something went very, very wrong. He told me to lie on my stomach, and he proceeded to push down on my lower back, very hard, with all his weight. I couldn't get out of bed the next morning, and for a few days afterward I couldn't even bend over. After having some x-rays taken, he told me I have something called spondylolesthesis of the 5th lumbar. After mentioning I've never had lower back pain ever in my life until I saw him, his response was that it was most likely an injury I sustained as a child. Of course, he wouldn't admit the fact that by pushing down on my back, he permanently changed the landscape of my spine, and had caused me a tremendous amount of pain. I recently had an MRI done, and was told I have a bulging disc in my back.

Three years later, my condition is still almost as bad as when I left his office. I have constant lower-back pain from the minute I wake up to the time I go to bed. I can't enjoy life the way I used to, and can't participate in athletics any more, thanks to him. I'm miserable and no fun to be around because of his incompetence. It has cost me many thousands of dollars, and countless hours of time spent in physical therapy and still no progress. My job required physical labor, and I'll probably have to find a new profession soon, too.

I've spent much time wondering how and why this could have happened to me. I would give anything to take that day back when I walked into his office. In my opinion, this person is incompetent, and not worthy of his title. Stay away from this man unless you want to have a lifetime of pain and suffering.
