I personally felt that she was excellent! She listened thoroughly and offered solid advice based on what information she had observed.She even threw in a little humor when needed. This is a laid back comfortable environment and I highly recommend her.

Mary Pat got it right. She saw beyond the lies and nonsense. She is a true counselor that stands up for the truth. She is highly recommended.

I would NOT recommend this counselor. My confidentiality was compromised along with others in my support group when she shared information that others have shared in their sessions. I did not get a clear evaluation nor did I receive a clear treatment plan. We jumped around from week to week as I was attempting to deal with my issues. I left there many times feeling judged and very confused about what the issues were that I was working on. There were a few sessions that she did all of the talking and I believe the session was about her issues and not mine. I'm glad I switched counselors when I did. However, I wasted plenty of time and money with this counselor. My advice is to look elsewhere for counseling.

I would highly recommend that you avoid using Mary Pat Melvin. She was highly unprofessional. She often interrupted me, did not listen to what I had to say, and made conclusions based on what she claimed to be "her sense" over obvious facts that were presented right in front of her. She has a very judgmental disposition that is not proper when you are seeking help or advice. Please look elsewhere if you are in need of counseling or guidance.
