Let me start by saying, I have been responsible for taking care of my own dental health for over 45 years. I've lived in Michigan, California and Florida and have experienced lousy dentists, mediocre (okay standards and they took my insurance), and some pretty good ones. The latter usually did NOT take my insurance.
Imagine the pleasant surprise of discovering not only a good dentist, but a GREAT dentist. Imagine your delight in also finding out he accepts your insurance, is extremely knowledgeable and competent AND will not price gouge you into services you DON'T need just so he can buy his new car, boat, or fund his kids college education and party lifestyle.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, look no further because I've found him, and his name is Dr. A. Yoon.
Let me continue by saying I do my homework when it comes to vetting out my doctors, dentists and service providers. I found Dr. Yoon on the advice of a friend, BUT as I say, I did my homework.
Dr. Yoon is not only highly-educated, and comes from a long-line in a family of dentists, but he also does a great deal of charity work in the community and overseas. Yes, I know, sounds nice, but what about his work?
Well, I am not a dental newbie so when I phoned and booked my appointment with Katia, I swear I could hear the happy smile in her voice. She asked me important questions about my insurance and when a good time for me would be. We set the date for my first cleaning appointment and exam. She ALSO asked me if there were other family members who needed an appointment and I graciously volunteered my husband. NEVER before had any other office in three different states asked about my family, and I was grateful she reminded me. When I informed hubby of his upcoming appointment he said he would send me on 'recon' (gotta love these ex-military guys) and if I liked him, then he would keep his appointment.
I have to tell you, I was happy to finally be able to get my teeth cleaned, as I was overdue by about three months.
I also knew I probably had cracked a filling eating by biting on my much-beloved popcorn...but not the kernal.
When I arrived, I was greeted by Katia again, and she DID have a smile on her face! Rather than the pages of paperwork to fill out, Dr. Yoon has personalized each patient by having a reception room with a computer and large screen to complete our personal information. NO cramped arthritic fingers anymore.
Secondly, after less than 5 minutes from completing my information, the door swung open to the inner office and Kellie, the hygienist (smiling also!!) called me back and walked me to my room. The room was spacious, bright, the chair ergonomically comfy, AND a tv on the ceiling! Kellie had a scented candle welcoming me into the room and my era music playing softly in the background. After a few checkup DIGITAL xrays, Kellie told me about the dreaded buildup, assured me it was a simple fix and then called Dr. Yoon in to check that cracked tooth.
After introducing himself, Dr. Yoon, ALSO SMILING, went over my health history again and asked about my concerns. I told him about the tooth, but he told me it would be back to near perfect with the crown. I was concerned about price but he told me there were many financial options as well as my insurance coverage. He had me speak to Myrna the office manager and financial coordinator, graciously explained the fee was LESS than what I had expected and quoted elsewhere, and Dr. Yoon was willing to take care of my problem right away, without having to schedule another appointment.
Did I mention he makes YOUR CROWN IN HIS OFFICE WHILE YOU WAIT? YES, he does!
Suffice to say, I had my cleaning, check-up AND a crown done in a little less than two hours...and left a happy camper with my new crown.
I've read the other reviews but I just don't understand the 'sour grapes' written by some. Maybe because I don't neglect my teeth I don't expect miracles performed for free. When it comes to Dr. Yoon, I've FOUND THE BEST!
