I hardly ever went to an eye doctor considering I had good vision and never had a reason to go, but recently my vision became blurry so I assumed that I was getting older and maybe it was time to go to a doctor for routine eye exam. I assumed that I would just be perscribed glasses and be on my way. Dr. Shen was a different than I expected, she took her time and noticed my eyes were red. It turned out I had an eye infection for months and never realized it. I always thought my eyes were red from being tired. I expressed that my vision was blurred and thought I should get glasses but she wanted to resolve the infection first then move forward from there. She recommended antibiotic drops and wanted to do a check up every week. I thought oh no I'll have to hire a babysitter but Dr.Shen suggested to bring my baby in a stroller and could come with me. She also specializes in pediatrics and did a check up on my son as well. I've never expected a Doctor who would be so understanding and let me bring my son with me to every appointment. Every check up my eyes got better and so did my vision. Turns out I don't need glasses because the infection caused the blurred vision. All of my eye issues have been resolved and my vision has been restored to 20/20. Dr. Shen took her time and cares deeply about her patients! I recommend Dr.Shen!!!!!!

Dr. Angela Shen has done an amazing job in resolving a medical mystery when it comes to my vision. I have experienced blurred vision for several years and was told that I needed eyeglasses. I made an appointment with Dr. Shen and told her that I had been told I needed eyeglasses previously and that I too felt that I needed them. Rather than writing a prescription right away, she immediately looked for the source of my eye problems. She found that my blurred vision was the result of a medical condition that could be easily treated with medication (eye drops). She was very cautious in my treatment and ensured that only necessary treatments were used. We discussed the medical treatment options as well as any side effects of the eye drops and I was able to make an informed decision based on her professional evaluation and advice. After two weeks of treatment, my vision improved from 20/40 to 20/20. Not only did my vision improve, my allergy conditions also improved and I did not even need eyeglasses. My husband who has experienced redness, pain, and blurred vision (20/50) has undergone treatment for only 24 hours and has already notice improvement in redness and vision. I was impressed with the time and dedication Dr. Shen put into caring for me. Her office was immaculate demonstrating a genuine concern for over all health. Her office carefully scheduled time between patients to be sure that all questions could be answered and that she would be able to give me her undivided attention. As someone who has worked in the medical billing, insurance, and compliance field for several years, I was impressed also by her high ethical standards in ensuring that all practices from patient care to business practices were in accordance to the rules and regulations set forth before her. I would highly recommend Dr. Shen for any medical treatment in regards to vision. She really cares for each of her patients and treats everyone with respect and with their best interest in mind. I have been seeing Dr. Shen for over 2 years. She is wonderful!!! I went in for an exam and to get new glasses. Dr. Shen did a very detailed exam and realized right away that I do have allergies. The lens prescribed were awesome! She had asked if I ever wore contacts. I indicated that I did, but it was not convenient. She then asked if it was because I still needed to use reading glasses with them in. I was amazed that she knew this! She told me that if I gave her the opportunity, she could find a prescription that would work without using glasses. A year later I gave it a try. I am very happy to report that I now wear contacts and DO NOT need to use reading glasses.

Prior I had gone to Pearl Vision. While convenient, it did feel like "fast food" service. I was told that because of my vision, I would have to use reading glasses while wearing contacts. Dr. Shen not only was able to fit me with contacts that I can use for all distances, but was able to uncover other issues I had. She treated my allergies and dry eye problem before she would fit me for the contacts. It has made all the difference. Before, I could barely keep my contacts in during the work day (because of the dryness). I am now able to wear them comfortably all day and right up to bedtime!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Shen. She is very detailed and takes great pride in providing excellent care.
